Ontario Renewable Energy Sector: ….. “massive never-ending sink-hole” of consumers dollars!!!!

Posted: July 4, 2013 in Uncategorized

Talk about a “sink-hole”!.…….more like a giant “black-hole” created by this Liberal Government that will suck copious amounts of hard earned dollars out of everyone’s pockets for decades to come and return absolutely nothing but more staggering debt and high electricity prices for all Ontario electrical consumers!

This is the Green Energy Act in all it’s “political glory”!

To add insult to injury, Ontario’s Ministry of Energy makes non-stop announcements that sound more like an insane “Alice in Wonderland” declaration while sipping tea at the Mad Hatter’s tea party such as the following:

Ontario Continues to Build Smarter, More Efficient Electricity Grid

Energy Agreement Secures Jobs and Clean Energy

Ontario Working With Communities to Secure Clean Energy Future

And the list goes on.

Of course us older folks remember only too well what took place back in the 30’s when the “master race” went on a hell-bent effort to take over the world and a little psychopath stated the following:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Joseph Goebbels

Ontario consumers of electricity are on the brink of a revolution, the kind that no Government would ever feel prepared for let alone want to happen, when so much time and money has been spent (Our tax dollars) to prop up a disgusting bunch of fraudsters that call themselves “Green Investors”.

One way to show this Gang Green that were “mad as hell and won’t take it any more” is to throw the five Liberal bums out of office on the upcoming by-elections in August that the mainstream media is touting “as not having any effect in the power structure at Queen’s Park!”

Maybe throwing these bums in the ditch may not change the power structure but it sure as hell will show Wynne and her energy muppets that Ontario consumers will bury this party in the trash can of history in the next general election. Oh and by the way, the NDP are in this group of idiots also!

Exclusive: Ontario spending millions to halt surplus electricity production

As Ontario experiences a record year for surplus electricity production, the province is no longer paying the United States to take the extra power off the grid, CTV Toronto has learned.

Ontario regularly produces a glut of electricity, and in the past, the province has paid American states and Quebec to alleviate the system.

CTV Toronto’s Paul Bliss has learned that the privately-owned Bruce Power plant in Tiverton, Ont., is periodically asked to shut down one of its massive reactors, or alternatively, vent steam instead of producing electricity. When that happens, the province must still pay the plant for the down time.

Terry Young, vice-president at the Independent Electricity System Operator, says Ontario’s complex power grid has to find a way to manage massive amounts of extra electricity. He says the Bruce plant is reliable and helps Ontario cope with power surplus.

“Ontario has become a net exporter of electricity,” Young told CTV News. “We’re in a better situation today than we were six, seven or eight years ago when we were relying on our neighbours.”

Bruce Power has turned five units off at different times this year to cut supply for a total down time of 40 days. Since the plant is paid about $1 million per day, it cost Ontario $40 million for reactors to idle.

Bruce also conducted steam diversions from turbines to cut power production 84 times this year, which is the equivalent of approximately 22 unit days offline. For that, the plant was paid $22 million to vent steam into the air instead of operating turbines.

In total, $62 million was paid to the Bruce plant this year to suppress electricity production.
