Residents of Chatham Kent aren’t getting much from their Mayor lately. First a story on Transport Canada ordering the removal of 8 wind turbines and when asked about it, the Mayor, Randy Hope said to talk to his CAO Shropshire who wasn’t available Friday at all.
Then previously this week, there’s a story on Chinese visitors attending Chatham discussing “investment opportunities” regarding “property development and tourist attractions” according to Michael Burton, director of economic development, yet no solid answers as yet about specifics.
What tourist attraction in Chatham?…………last time anyone checked it was covered in Wind Turbines and people were fleeing their homes because of it! It couldn’t be the de-population of Rural Ontario and having Chinese coming here to buy cheap land for residency could it?
Questions but no answers…………..sounds like Mayor Hope either has no idea what’s going on here or is so deep inside the future plans for Chatham Kent that probably wouldn’t make his electorate very happy, that he just wants it to remain silent until the deal is signed.
Hmmm…..Dalton McGuinty style!!!!
