Is this Wynne’s “payoff” for continuing in McGuinty’s foot steps with Green Energy mess?

Posted: February 27, 2013 in Uncategorized

Well, that didn’t take long and it sure seems that the Energy Sector doesn’t even have to go through a complicated “lobby process” to get Wynne’s ear on where Green Energy is going with the new/old Premier’s Wind/Solar agenda!

Energy Sector discussion could have gone like this: ” Kathleen needs a “war chest” against those pesky anti-windies out there……Let’s throw a dinner party! Cost per plate?……………….ohh let’s say…..$5,000????………….Yep, that should work!”

With all the negative and REAL stories and documented evidence that Wind Turbines in Ontario are job killers, wildlife murderers, home destroyers and endanger people’s health the Wind companies are finding it more difficult to stand up to scrutiny in the public forum. They are under increasing attack by lawyers, health studies and political activists who are ramping up the rhetoric to have these fraudulent generators stopped and eventually removed from Ontario landscapes!

What better way to get back in the game by lining the pockets of politicians with that other “green energy”, MONEY!

How much lower can “our” elected officials go?……………….apparently a whole lot lower!!!

High-rollers in the energy sector are being invited to an exclusive $5,000-a-head fundraiser Premier Kathleen Wynne, the Star has learned.

Hosted by power industry executives, the March 27 event promises to be an intimate affair at the chi-chi Rosewater on Toronto St.

The three-course dinner “with everyone seated around a single table” will be a chance for well-heeled insiders to rub shoulders with Wynne and newly minted Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli.

“No more than 22 tickets will be offered for this event. Tickets will be $5,000 each, with tax receipts provided,” according to an email invitation from Tina Arvanitis, vice-president of communications and stakeholder relations at the Ontario Energy Association.

“This will be the first opportunity to sit down and speak to both Premier Wynne and Minister Chiarelli on energy-related issues,” she wrote.

In an interview, Arvanitis emphasized the evening is not hosted by the OEA, an energy industry umbrella association, but by “a group of us in the sector that is putting these together.”…………………………………………………(snip)……………..

Private energy companies were among the big donors to Wynne’s recent Liberal leadership campaign.

According to Elections Ontario, Bruce Power and Niagara Region Wind Corporation each contributed $5,000; Northland Power forked over $3,500; Samsung Renewable Energy gave $2,000; and Enbridge Gas Distribution donated $1,000.

Why is it okay for Tim Hudak and his energy team to have a fundraiser + separate fundraising dinner at the exact same location?

  2. So, let’s ‘follow the money’ for just a moment. The energy consumers pay their hydro bills; the energy insiders get lucrative contracts from the governing party; then the governing party sells $5k plates of food to the energy insiders, completing the picking of the consumer’s pockets by the Liberal Party of Ontario. Feeling fleeced yet?
