Ontario residents “have had enough” and are going after their Municipal Councils!

“We are mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it any more”!

Rural Residents across Ontario have had enough! From the Scam called the Green Energy Act to the water and sewage fees being charged, not to mention the outrageous land taxes increasing with the loss of services, and the outrageous electrical rates, Ontario residents have had damn near enough of their respective elected Councils working for Dalton McGuinty and his Gang instead of what they were elected and paid for: “To represent the people”!

Take the Walkerton issue. Because two guys got drunk and poisoned a bunch of people on a faulty water system, the Clean Water Agency was set up and draconian laws that every single town in Ontario had to have a clean water and sewage system set up where users pay. The reality today is that these water plants are breaking down and requiring massive amounts of money from tax payers to repair them. Of course people who have their own water systems and septic systems where they are responsible for their own upkeep are now being asked to pay for the users of the water treatment plants…or so the Councils hope.

Then comes the Green Energy Scam(Act) put through by McGuinty and Gang which took away any Democratic rights from all Councils across Ontario. Instead of Councils standing up on their hind legs stating NO WAY, they sat in their tax payer funded leather chairs, rubbed their over stuffed bellies and said “OK Dalt, we’re onside with that”! To hell with the fact that electrical rates have doubled and will continue to do so for at least another decade!

Take our land taxes. MPAC is a fake agency put in place by Dalton and Gang which removed tax assessors from visiting each home and doing an individual appraisal and then implemented a broken computer system that labelled a universal tax appraisal right across Ontario that “averaged” appraisal rates according to a software program. Taxes increased of course, even if you lived in an uncompleted house without any drywall  you would be appraised like the ten room mansion just around the corner! No complaints by fat sleazy councillors though, after all it’s just extra money inside their Municipal coffers!

I am just scratching the surface here with reasons people are pissed off!

What really emphasises the discontent here is that WE PAY these idiots to do this to us!

Protests across Ontario get little to no coverage in the mainstream newspapers and TV stations because they have also sold out to the Provincial “wiseguys”.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t dissent! There is and it’s only going to get LOUDER!!!!

‘Fed up taxpayer’ seeks revolt

MONTE SONNENBERG Simcoe Reformer Marnie Knight, of Selkirk, is a “fed-up taxpayer” who wants to get a tax revolt going in Haldimand County.

SELKIRK – A campaign is underway to get a tax revolt going in Haldimand County.

“Fed up taxpayer” Marnie Knight of Selkirk is circulating a letter inviting disaffected residents to a public meeting at Cayuga Secondary School three weeks from now.

Knight has been at the forefront of the campaign in Haldimand against industrial wind turbines. She has since taken on a laundry list of grievances related to other issues in the county.

At the Feb. 21 meeting, Knight wants to talk about skyrocketing water and sewer rates, the potential closure of three fire halls, and council remuneration among other items.

In an interview this week, Knight said Haldimand council has been badly out of step with public opposition to wind projects. She says council should be doing more than passing the blame onto the province.

“Civil disobedience is not an easy thing, and I’m among the most law-abiding citizens you’ll want to meet,” Knight said. “But there comes a time when you want your democratic rights, and they are just being eroded out from underneath us. I hope this catches on. I’m sick and tired of being ram-rodded. I hope people come out. It’s time.”

Council recently received a report from the London consulting firm POMAX that recommended the closure of fire halls in Fisherville, Moulton and Byng near Lowbanks. The same report recommends beefing up fire resources in South Cayuga. Council will consider the report at its committee meeting March 4.

In a letter titled “Wanted: Council with integrity and backbones,” Knight also takes exception to the fact that councillor wages have risen from $25,000 to $36,000 since 2001. Over the same period, the mayor’s salary has risen from $50,000 to $72,000.

As for escalating water and sewer rates, this is not a Haldimand-specific phenomenon. In recent years, annual rate increases between five and 10% across Ontario have been the rule.
